With this Action, we aimed to promote and share experiences in social integration.
There is always an element of achievement when a system that’s put into place works and the people who start from nothing end up completely changing their lives and in turn changing others’ lives. It’s always encouraging to hear the success stories through those who have made a change and social integration, those who have strived for professional status and then ultimately achieved their goals.
We identified key players and role models in the different sports sectors to compile inspirational videos and talks which were subtitled in the different languages. We also invited these role models and key players to the training sessions where they could talk to the refugees and provide inspiration.
Every success story created an impact and a ripple effect which encouraged those who believed there was no hope. Everyone started from somewhere!
Through these stories on professional and social integration, we were able to apply examples of best practices and a way forward to those seeking the same path. The Recommendation is to involve key players that went through the same situations and can relate to the refugees.
