This Action aims to develop a connection between refugees and the territory.
Local communities should each concentrate on proposals to encourage integration depending on what their territory has to offer. Some locations are better equipped for land sports, some indoor sports, others water sports. The natural and artificial sports environments that are available should be used to their maximum in order to encourage projects ad hoc to encourage the integration within the territory.
As Lazio multisport club is the largest multisport club in Europe in terms of sections, we were able to provide the option of different sports based in the different areas. Our sports clubs are dispersed all over the Roman territory, sailing is in Anzio, American Football at the Castelli, Taekwondo in Viterbo and so on. This also gives us the possibility to intercept the refugee associations in the relevant territories offering the possibility of the sport in that territory and consequently getting to know the area.
The impact is not only the encouragement, inclusion and integration of the refugees but also the attention and care towards the territories that they reside in and utilise for sport as well as getting to know the territory better which makes them feel more at home.
Through these initiatives we can achieve awareness, inclusion and sustainability simultaneously. The recommendation is that local municipalities should become more involved, aware and territorially active.
